As an Ottawa newborn photographer, I always recommend booking your newborn photography session during pregnancy, ideally in your second or early third trimester.
Why You Should Book Your Newborn Photoshoot Early
Newborn photography in Ottawa is best scheduled between 7-22 days after birth to capture those once-in-a-lifetime, precious moments. Because of this narrow window, photographers often book up weeks or even months in advance.
Booking early ensures you secure a spot around your due date. What If My Baby Arrives Early or Late?
Upon booking, I reserve your due date in my calendar, which guarantees you a session within the first few weeks of your baby’s arrival—whether they arrive early, late, or right on time. This gives you flexibility while still guaranteeing availability.
What If I Didn’t Book in Advance?
If your baby has already arrived, it’s still worth reaching out! While availability may be limited, some photographers keep space for last-minute bookings! Older newborns are also just as sweet to photograph, even if they're outside of the ideal age.
